This is the first remix of TYME and it is a really wonderful song. I just absolutely love the way it turned out. There is not much more I can say about this than has already been said abouot TYME - I did put more emphasis on the drones, and I added a clap to the percussion for a group effect. Enjoy! Juss some Scratch is another one of the mini-tracks used to bass-line the Sick & Twisted album. THis was the first - the others came later and are all renditions of this track. At some point I will merge them all into a beat dance mix! ( 1 reviews ) Topics: Beat, dance, club, gruvenheimer, music
Hip Hop came about in mid 2004 as a challenge from another artist to make a track with an old school hip hop bass line and beat. Mixed with my trance stuttering and echo style now characteristic of Gruvenheimer songs. ( 1 reviews ) Topics: Hip Hop, Club, Dance, Gruvenheimer
Insanity is one of a series of mini-tracks I used on Sick & Twisted to create a style bass-line to smooth out the transistions in the variety of genre I put on that album. It is a fun little beat track! ( 1 reviews ) Topics: Beat, Dance, Club, Gruvenheimer, Music
Anyone who has lived in an old apartment knows what it is like to have the drip of a faucet keeping you up late at night! Well here is a song incorporating that sound, again showing some Art of Noise influence. ( 1 reviews ) Topics: House, Disco House, Dance, Club, Music, Gruvenheimer
For the unreleased album 'Sick & Twisted' I had these little bon mots for in between songs to kind of break upthe album into sections. The idea was to create a bass line of style for the listener to go back to. Kind of like the coffee beans in the perfume department at Nordstoms. TYME is a housy song with an upbeat melody. There are elements that allude to my influences from the 1980's mod era, when I was listening to a lot of New Order and Depeche Mode. This is one of my favorite songs, and I listen to it every day! ( 1 reviews ) Topics: Club, House, Dance, Music, eighties, Mod, Gruvenheimer
Slave to the Bass is the extended dance remix of Bass onna Plate. For this track I boosted the bass and percussion signals, and added some special effects with the scratching and melodies. ( 1 reviews ) Topics: House, Disco House, Gruvenheimer, Dance, Club, Music
For Eternity is a collaboration between Lorilee of Technetium and Sean of Gruvenheimer. For Eternity is off Technetium's Nocturnal album. Lyrics: Time Passes, Transforms day by day, mystical passage, the world just slips away, tried not to listen, to hear this inner call, the journey brings me back again, the writing's on the wall, living day to day in a world of time slipping away, I hear the call, away from it all. An Immortal living in a world of sadness and pain, sometimes it seems... Topic: Ambient Trance, Electronica, Ambient, Technetium, Gruvenheimer,
Bass onna Plate is one of my early works. I wanted to make a song that sounded like a house beat being mixed and switched over back and forth with kind of a b-boy break dance beat. The lyrics all ended up being in the middle of the song, which feels weird but I like it so I left it. I am a big believer in honoring the integrity of my artistic process, even if that means producing something unconventional. ( 1 reviews ) Topics: Bass onna Plate, house, break dance, Gruvenheimer

This song is one of my earliest jam sessions, I finished it in one evening. Battle Mix is a tribute to the mega-mixes we used to do on the radio. We would get every piece of equipment in the studio fired up and have the air full of cuts and scratching. There is some influence from the early breakdance era too. Track 3 in the House of Wow mix. Spawned after my first night at 2424, and underground after hours club in the SODO out in the train tracks & warehouses. All the effects to the melody you hear were done by hand using math, reproducing each note to modify it and place it where it needed to be. The process was painstaking and took a long time, but the end result was well worth the effort. ( 1 reviews ) Topics: House, Hard House, Dance, Club, Music, Gruvenheimer

Fashionista is a track I laid out for a series of photo shoots I was working with. We needed something steppy and upbeat for the girls to move to, but not too distracting. You'll see! Turn this one up and practice your vogue! ( 1 reviews ) Topics: house, deep house, club, dance, music, gruvenheimer
Me jamming out on dual Yamana DJXIIB Jam Box - Adventure Style with no mixer, no headphones, just guts & glory & the trunk of my car! The Verbal Burble Mix really starts to show my influence from Art of Noise. I was a big fan of theirs in the 80's, and I think the stuttering and the overlapping of phrases really is a product of that time. The object of the mix, for me, was to take elements from the original dance track and make a song that didn't sound remotely familiar (unless you have keen ears). SPIN Feel Good Edit comes in 2004. I was working with bending sounds and minimalistic sound effects. There is an extended dance remix on the way too. ( 1 reviews ) Topics: House, Disco House, Club, Dance, Music, Gruvenheimer
I was working at Digital Kitchen when I started this piece. I was actually working on the sound track for a chase scene. Synergy started as one section of a larger series of songs. I liked the energy so I spun it off into it's own track and gave it a club synth melody. There are several changes in style and meter throughout the song which made it very interesting to me. I would say this falls into the tweaky drum & bass category! ( 1 reviews ) Topics: Drum & Bass, electro, dance, club, gruvenheimer, music
Disco Diva is track two in the House of Wow mix. This song is dedicated to Tanya, one of my closest friends who helped me through a difficult time in my life. =] She is a Disco Diva, and this song is for her! ( 1 reviews ) Topics: House, Disco House, Dance, Club, Music, Gruvenheimer
Duelo Solos is one of my early works as well, a response to a challenge from myself to incorporate a rock & roll song with lots of guitar. I never really got into any lyrics for this track, so I just made it a tribute to butt rock and top 40 riffs we have all heard over the decades. For air guitar fans this is all icing - don't forget to stretch your fingers first! ( 3 reviews ) Topics: Duelo Solos, Rock & Roll, Rock, Gruvenheimer
Echo Agogo came about the same time as Duelo Solos, Coming Soon and Bass onna Plate. Another one of my songs that feels very much like you are listening to a mix as the track plays out. My approach to layout with this track is unconventional and rough with a cold ending. It all started as an exploration of recording a song like it was a Dj using the transformer switch. Get Down is an opening track for 'Coming Soon, A Work of Incredible Genius', a short run album released in 2004 under the alias 'Outlander'. Get Down employs many of the similar traits in Big Beat music while sounding different. This is loud and peppy, guaranteed to wake you up! London Town came about the same time as Synergy at a point when I was working with speed changes and effects with octave changes. The effects are largely diggery-doo manipulations. This is the track that spawned the XDM of London Town aka 'Rumblers Run/Turboprop Liftoff Mix' which winds all the way up to 999bpm. But I digress; this is a wonderful track and I hope you enjoy it! Phat & Slow is... well, I had these little transition tracks in between the songs on 'Coming Soon, A Work of Incredible Genius' - they all had this same beat, but different words or sounds, and they were just about 20 to 30 seconds long. It was to give a thread to the album because it was all over the place in regards to genre. Well, people liked them, a lot, and so I am producing a series of them. Every once in a while I like to work with something completely different from what I am doing at the time (which is usually electronic dance music). Andean Aria is a result of one such exercise. I enjoyed making it sound as though you really were outdoors. This song is especially fun to listen to with a good set of headphones on - there is detail that gets missed when listening on speakers in an open room. Enjoy! In 2004 I was working on a house mix and ended up putting this track at the end of a 20 minute session called 'The House of Wow'. I used elements from the original track and reassembled them in a way that causes a kind of cognitive dissonance (if you have heard the original track first). This is a fun song! New Syn Mix City is the extended remix of the track Synergy. In the buildup at the beginning (approx 2:07 into the song) I have split and repested the sounds of the song until they are not what they were, and create a separate harmonic altogether. I also boosted the power levels in this mix. ( 1 reviews ) Topics: Drum & Bass, Hard House, Dance, Club, Music, Gruvenheimer

This song was named by my mother! Pangur Ban is the story of a legendary cat in Irish lore (part of my heritage). To me his song definitely sounds like part of a movie soundtrack. There is a fun mix of two different basslines over an uptempo dance beat. Very clubby and danceable! Phraseology started as a training track to teach another member of a former band how to listen for percussion phrasing. I liked the upbeat style, and the sounds I got with the drums I mixed (listen for the ring). This would fall into a minimal trance/hard house category. Excellent for dance mixes and working out. Me jamming out some revved up hip hop beats while I mercilessly slice them into some psychedelic treats. These are jam sessions, so you get to break the fourth wall and hear the goofs. My theory is, if I am not making mistakes, I am not pushing myself, because I already know how to do it. So if there is a mistake a lot of times I let it go on because I learned a while back that I find the true new nuggets of gold in crap. lol Also it helps me prepare for what if that happens while I... Me working out on some down tempo beats, getting a little broken and grimey. lol This is at 99.9 bpm which is, almost physically painful for me because I gravitate to higher speeds naturally. But you gotta round it out, so I practice it all. This turned out fun, reminds me of an after after after hours party one time. Topics: Gruvy, Gruvenheimer, Grimey, Grime, EDM, Live, Down tempo

Lost My Mind is one of several songs in which I use a phrase and parts of words from that phrase layered over each other, sometimes using the word pieces to make tonal sounds. It makes a fun effect.
